    Job Description

We’re a new, seed stage startup from the founders of Meetup that is democratizing the world of one-on-one coaching; we believe that you don’t have to have credentials to use your experience and empathy to help others. We want to help people connect in a 1:1 setting to learn, grow, and share experiences at a price that truly makes this kind of coaching accessible to everyone.

We just closed a significant seed round with world class investors, and are incredibly excited to build out our team. The current team has a track record of success with Meetup and other ventures, and a wide array of experience in startups, tech, community building, and coaching. We’re looking for our second engineering hire to help us launch our beta product and figure out how to help people help people.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    • An opportunity to build a product that will truly improve the lives of the people who use it and build human connection in a world increasingly ruled by screens.

    • A chance to join a team with a track record of success at a very early stage and make a meaningful impact on what the product becomes.

    • The ability to jump into a very new codebase, create new features from the ground up, and directly shape the technical approach as we grow.

    • A fully remote, flexible team that recognizes that life comes first. Be available for limited synchronous meetings and otherwise follow a schedule that works for you.

Our stack is currently Laravel/PHP on the backend and Blade with Alpine.js on the frontend, hosted on AWS. We expect this to evolve with the product, particularly on the frontend. Someone with a frontend bias who could really drive frontend direction would be a great compliment to our lead engineer.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Collaborate with tech lead to make key architecture and technology decisions that determine the technical direction of the product.

    • Help shape the engineering team processes from the ground up.

    • Work closely with product and design to launch new features in a continuous delivery environment.

    • Help lay the technical groundwork that enables us to grow and scale quickly over the coming months.

    • Work on all pieces of the stack to help us launch our beta product by the fall.

    YOUR STRENGTHS

    • A wide breadth of experience across the stack. We realize that no one is truly an expert at everything, but we’d like someone who has at least some experience working on all parts of the stack.

    • An excitement for building products and solving technical problems in the simplest way possible that gets the job done for the scale we’re at now.

    • A knack for breaking large features into smaller deliverable pieces and moving projects forward even when there’s some ambiguity.

    • A desire to join a largely greenfield project and tackle all the tasks involved in starting from scratch while laying a strong technical foundation.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    • Initial cash compensation $75k-$120k, will increase as we grow

    • 1-2% equity stake as seed stage, low strike price options

    • Fully remote, unlimited PTO, and flexible schedule

    • 80% of medical, dental, and/or vision insurance covered

    • FSA / Dependent Care accounts
