    Manufacturing Manager

    Objective: As a hands-on leader, this role is crucial for overseeing and driving innovation within the production department. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping the manufacturing department's success.

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years of successful team management experience in a manufacturing setting
    • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in using Google Sheets (or Excel)
    • Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven track record in developing processes and procedures
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
    • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to change
    • Positive can-do attitude
    • Preferred Skills:
    • 5+ years of experience in a discrete manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of various materials, wood species, characteristics, and grading (preferred, not required)
    • Experience in water-based, waterborne, and oil-based finishes.
    • Experience in developing operating budgets
    • Quality control/inspection experience

    Responsibilities:

    • Report to the Plant Manager and participate in monthly Departmental Manager Meetings
    • Contribute to annual budget planning and departmental structure plan development
    • Manage team performance through qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators
    • Coordinate with the Purchasing Agent to order necessary materials.
    • Execute hands-on tasks such as ripping, planning, and routing materials when required
    • Collect and track essential data
    • Develop, implement, and present SOPs and other relevant documents
    • Ensure completion of training programs for department personnel
    • Review and approve staff hours, PTO requests, and conduct performance reviews
    • Address disciplinary actions when necessary, including termination
    • Complete all Incident Reports and notify HR
    • Facilitate candidate interviews for the Manufacturing Department
    • Demonstrate a consistent desire to learn department-specific products and procedures
    • Oversee operator-level machine maintenance
    • Enforce quality control and quality assurance protocols
    • Collaborate with production supervisors and Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for effective communication and coordination
    • Create and maintain a weekly production schedule
    • Address production coordination-related questions and concerns
    • Participate in daily production meetings
    • Work with the HR Department to ensure the well-being of employees
    • Regularly meet with shop personnel to ensure personal and professional development
