    Looking for an experienced Sr. Cost Accountant to join our growing Corporate Finance team. They would be a business partner to the leadership, sales, and operations teams. Guaranteeing principles of cost accounting are applied to enable an understanding of product costs, production variances and product profitability. Other duties will include the month end close process, accuracy of inventory account balances, inventory costing, transfer pricing and internal controls.

    Requirements:

    • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
    • CPA is a plus
    • Must have 5 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance.
    • Must have experience in manufacturing company with cost accounting
    • Understanding of ERP systems
    • Required: Strong business system knowledge including Microsoft Office
    • Communicate with all levels of management
    • Ability to handle multiple projects in a manufacturing environment with a responsibility of supplying quality assessments to management

    Responsibilities:

    • Take part in special projects and analysis as assigned, which includes but not limited to accounting system implementations and departmental process improvements
    • Assist in calculating transfer prices for items purchased and sold to international subsidiaries
    • Apply standard overhead and labor cost to all new parts and configurations as needed; resolve related issues
    • Monitor cycle counts and perform cycle count audits periodically
    • Create month-end closing journal entries
    • Balance all inventory accounts to general ledger at month end
    • Collaborate with others to resolve issues, test, and implement new practices
    • Prepare product profitability reports at the aggregate and unit level
    • Conduct cost-volume-profit analysis (CVP)
    • Provide product costs to the sales team to assist with formulating pricing
    • Research and resolve account balance and transactional discrepancies; suggest solutions to prevent future issues
    • Calculate labor and overhead rates for fiscal year with mid-year updates and assist with the annual budgeting and mid-year reforecasting process
    • Perform annual cost update of all active parts
    • Control, monitor, and report on inventory valuation and production variances
    • Schedule and manage yearly physical inventory including preparatory meetings with Operations Managers, updating procedures, overseeing all activities on inventory day, processing of counts, post inventory reconciliation
    • Provide audit support as it relates to inventory and cost accounting
