    About Us: As a leading food distributor committed to delivering the highest quality seafood/ perishable goods to North America via Air freight distribution. Our dedication to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction sets us apart in the industry.

    We are in search of an experienced, results-driven Operations Manager to oversee our logistics/distribution & warehouse operations with a primary focus on shipping the highest quality seafood/perishable goods to customers in North America. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with a strong understanding of supply chain management and a passion for delivering exceptional products to our valued customers.

    Responsibilities:

    Supply Chain Management:

    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain, ensuring the efficient flow of seafood products from source to destination.
    • Oversee inventory management, forecasting, and demand planning to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.

    Logistics and Shipping:

    • Coordinate transportation, shipping, and customs clearance to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery of seafood to the Pacific West Coast of the North American markets.
    • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and freight forwarders.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the shipping process, from packing to delivery.
    • Stock rotation for FIFO (fresh) / FEFO (frozen)
    • Cycle counting to investigate discrepancies as needed.
    • Ensure reports and inventory balances are communicated with leadership team in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Direct communication with customs brokers, airlines, freight forwarders, and transportation companies
    • Work with broker and the port to schedule delivery of import containers.
    • Coordinate FDA holds and inspections with proper entities.
    • Implement quality control measures and facilitate compliance with international standards and regulations.

    Team Leadership:

    • Hands-on leadership, ownership of the Logistics and Processing operations, providing guidance and support in achieving operational excellence.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages team members to excel.
    • Daily assignments and monitoring of tasks to warehouse associates and drivers to include, but not limited to:
    • Company policies and always maintaining records in “audit ready” status.
    • Leading safety talks, walkthrough of facility noting any irregularities and noting corrective actions needed.

    Cost Management:

    • Develop and manage budgets to control operational costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficient logistics solutions.

    Compliance and Documentation:

    • Stay up to date with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and documentation processes.
    • Ensure all necessary documentation, permits, and certifications are in place for international shipments.

    Customer Satisfaction:

    • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to meet customer requirements and expectations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
    • Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, particularly in the food industry, and/or seafood industry or a related perishable goods sector.
    • Strong understanding of international shipping, customs, and compliance regulations.
    • HACCP certification preferred.
    • Experience with excel and/or ERP- Canopy preferred, not required.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
    • At least 5 years of related managerial experience.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) highly desirable, not required.

    Physical:

    • Utilize hand & finger dexterity
    • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
    • Continuously utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard.
    • Ability to lift/push/carry items up to 50lbs.
    • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
    • Continuously required to talk or hear
    • Frequently required to stand
