Find us at http://www.theiacouture.com We are looking for a creative and passionate Designer to support the Design team in all aspects of the product lifecycle from concept to final development. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conduct design research as directed by Creative Director * Design according to style plans, sales needs and emerging trends in evening wear * Creating embroidery artworks for dresses and trims for the Evening and Bridal division * Helping design and create oversea tech packs for the Bridesmaids division * Ensure timely execution of embroidery and oversea tech packs * Source trim and fabrics and develop new fabrics with factories and vendors * Create and modify prints using Adobe programs * Review lab dips, strike offs for samples and production and make accurate comments * Prepare line sheets and descriptions of dresses and update as necessary. * Attend fit sessions and make detailed fit comments and revisions * Assist with the preparations of presentation boards for seasonal meetings * Help prepare the line for monthly markets * Handle materials needed for the sample room such as lining, trims, etc. * Ensure accuracy of sample tracking logs, line sheets, boards, and design archives * Maintain and organize the embroidery and trim library * Hire and mentor interns * Perform other design related duties as needed * Work amongst a fun, passionate team of inspiring people in a fast-paced environment Qualifications * Bachelors degree in Fashion Design or Art * 3-5 years experience in apparel design * Strong illustrating and hand sketching ability is essential as all embroidery artworks are hand drawn * Highly proficient in Adobe products and Microsoft Office * Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills * Team oriented * Is great at prioritizing workload, flexible, and happy to jump in and help the team when and where needed * Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines * Have a good understanding of how the design process works and understanding of garment construction * Have a passion for evening wear and bridal and are excited to bring new ideas to the design team Job Type: Full-time Experience: * fashion design: 3 years (Required) Education: * Bachelor's (Preferred) Location: * New York, NY (Required) Work authorization: * United States (Required) 19 hours ago - save job Apply Now Apply Now Save this job
