Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES:
The essential functions/duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assist with physical care and physical management of student, including toileting, feeding, and positioning, as needed and appropriate
• Operate and assist with the care of student’s medical equipment/classroom equipment
• Provide educational support and management of student, as needed, during instructional and non-instructional activities
• Documenting health services provided in accordance with the Maryland COMAR standards
• Participate in training as required to update or maintain skills
• Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
• 1:1 cases with special needs students (full-time)
REQUIREMENTS:
• Requires current & valid CNA license
• Must pass BCPS criminal history background check & fingerprinting
• Must have current TB clearance
• Willingness to be assigned to any site/assignment within Baltimore City Public Schools
• Ability to exercise professional judgment in decision making and communicate effectively
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Interest and desire to work with children with developmental disabilities and special health care needs
• Ability to travel to different worksites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (MAY BE EXPANDED):
• Hand dexterity ability (ability to operate mobile device, telephone, computer)
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to travel to multiple locations
• May require physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
