    As a Therapist 1, you will provide trauma-informed counseling services to adult survivors and child witnesses of domestic violence in a shelter or offsite setting. You will play an integral role in the multi-disciplinary team by offering individual and group therapy, conducting assessments, and developing tailored service plans. This role allows you to make a direct impact on the healing journey of survivors through evidence-based interventions, advocacy, and support within a dynamic and supportive team environment.

    Job Description The Therapist 1 will be responsible for the following tasks:

    Client Services:

    Conduct psychosocial assessments for adult and child clients affected by domestic violence.

    Develop individualized service plans, monitor progress, and regularly update clients’ goals.

    Provide weekly individual or family, evidence-based, and trauma-informed counseling services.

    Facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic support groups for survivors.

    Create individualized safety plans for clients, ensuring they are regularly updated.

    Assess the success of interventions using agency-approved evaluation tools.

    Provide crisis intervention services when needed.

    Offer accurate referrals and advocacy services to clients, maintaining knowledge of community resources.

    Program Specific:

    Adhere to state and professional licensing requirements to maintain current licensure.

    Stay current on clinical research and best practices in therapeutic interventions.

    Administrative:

    Attend client staffing, Clinical Services meetings, and supervision sessions with the Counseling and Prevention Manager.

    Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client services in accordance with agency timelines.

    Maintain and update client master lists and files in compliance with auditing processes.

    Complete assigned duties for the aftercare program and PAIP victim outreach.

    Participate in facilitating 40-hour training classes for new staff.

    Follow all CCSS policies for client safety, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

    Qualifications

    Education: MA or MSW in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology; LPC or LSW.

    Experience:

    2-5 years of experience working with domestic violence victims.

    2-5 years in counseling, with project management and personal workflow skills.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT).

    Strong ability to maintain client confidentiality.

    Other Requirements:

    Valid Driver’s License.
