Shift: First Shift - Hours to be mutually agreed upon with supervisor
Facility: 301/303
Reports to: Director of Operations
Objective: The plant manager has ownership of the daily front line production operations of the 301 and 303 facilities. It is their responsibility to maintain plant safety, instruction compliance, customer concerns, and plant output at satisfactory levels. The plant manager will embrace ThermTech’s culture of servant leadership, making it a priority to serve and develop all employees under management

Minimum Requirements for Qualification:
• High school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in English language (reading and verbal)
• Secondary education in a manufacturing or engineering related field is preferable
• United States citizenship is required
• Working knowledge of PC based computer platforms
• A minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing based industry is preferred
• The ideal candidate will have prior experience working directly with heat treating processes and equipment
• Previous experience in personnel management is required
Job Responsibilities
Satisfactory completion of the following items will ensure successful completion of the stated objective for this position:
- Enforce safety standards throughout the facility and drive continual improvement in safety practices.
- Respond to all safety incident reports with re-trainings and corrective actions as required.
- Proactively generate safety concerns for preventive safety procedure improvements.
- Ensure that organizational assets (manpower and materials) are organized and aligned so as to ensure that daily production schedules are being followed.
- Execute specific action items for corrective/preventive actions that are assigned by the Director of Operations or Quality Manager.
- Ensure that all frontline production personnel are current with training goals, in accordance with time served and thus functioning at the expected level with respect to their job description.
- Manage critical production task items using the “Daily Foreman Log” live document - assigning tasks to shift foreman as necessary.
- Manage the active employee roster for the 301/303 facilities. Ensure that necessary job openings are on file with HR and interview prospective employees as necessary. Confirm all offers of employment with the Director of Operations.
- Provide corrective action for all instruction deviations - collaborating with other department managers as required. This includes violations of safety or IT/cybersecurity protocols.
- Conduct a daily review of open order reports for the 301/303 facility to ensure all orders are proceeding at an acceptable work rate. Triage orders that are held up at various operations as needed.
- Assign/schedule work crews for weekend overtime based on workload and as deemed necessary by the production coordinator.
- Assign and enforce procedures for maintenance of plant cleanliness.
- Maintain inventory of all heat treat alloy fixturing. Send items for internal repair as required. Disposition and report scrap as needed. Prepare an order sheet on a quarterly basis.
- Notify production coordinator of upcoming delays or challenges to carry out root cause and corrective action for customer concerns flow down daily work/task goals to shift foreman to ensure all work in plant is proceeding at the intended pace.
- Ensure peripheral operations (ie painting, racking, etc) are working at pace to keep work available for furnaces.
- Ensure critical announcements are relayed to all employees at shift change meetings.
- Enforce IT/cybersecurity policies with front line production employees.
- Conduct semi-annual reviews of all direct reports and ensure that all employees under management are receiving the same review schedule from their direct supervisor. These reviews are to be in line with organizational strategy set by the Director of Operations.
