    Job Description

    In this role you will assist in ensuring the facility’s compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and Therma Tru EHS standards. The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to established operational procedures and standard work to assist facility managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

    YOUR ROLE:

    • Environmental Monitoring and Reporting: Intern candidate will assist monitoring and documentation of the air & water emissions as well as site waste streams to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. This person shall assist Environmental Technician on Title V, Tier II, TRI, RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC and other reporting as needed to maintain compliance.
    • Environmental Recordkeeping: Intern candidate will assist in gathering, reviewing, logging, tracking, and filing required records to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate recordkeeping requirements.
    • **Training, Education, & Awareness: **Intern candidate will assist in task related to EHS training to help ensure environmental compliance, emergency response and legal liability issues. Candidate may also assist in developing and maintaining compliance training database.
    • Facility Assessments : Intern candidate will perform routine environmental assessments and audits to meet compliance requirements, identify program-specific deficiencies and risk areas. Successful candidate will be expected to prepare audit reports/corrective action updates for review by an EHS Specialist and collaborate with facility management and 3rd party sources to implement corrective measures.
    • Waste and Recycling : Intern Candidate will assist in data collection and refinement of our waste & recycling programs to ensure waste materials are appropriately stored, shipped, profiled, manifested and disposed or recycled in compliance with applicable regulatory and corporate requirements with oversight by an EHS Specialist.
    • ESG Program Assistance : Intern Candidate will support Environmental & Social Governance initiatives, including researching additional recycling opportunities as well as optimizing existing initiatives.
    • Safety Cultural Development : Intern Candidate will support safety activities aimed at improving plantwide cultural initiatives.
    • Safety Program Involvement : Intern Candidate must support safety initiatives, including driving participation, supplying data, and other tasks as assigned. Candidate will participate in additional projects as time permits.
    • EHS Program Development: Intern Candidate will work actively toward continuous improvement of the EHS programs including refining or developing standard work for routine tasks, inspections, reports, as well as refining training programs and procedures to ensure program consistency with oversight by an EHS staff.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Active student enrolled in EHS-related field preferred.

    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Strong time management skills
    • Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software
