    Job Description

    The Business Development (BD) Specialist will support strategies and plans for business and market development in the U.S. and International markets. A dynamic and growing set of programs, events, and activities will require the position to actively organize, manage, and implement multiple efforts at various levels. The BD Specialist will have the capabilities and experience to interface comfortably and effectively with executive management, leading surgeons, and business partners in the orthopedic market. The BD Specialist monitors and measures results of efforts and inputs on improvements and new opportunities. This position reports to the VP of Business Development and is based in the east coast, New Jersey office of Silicon Valley, California based THINK Surgical.  

    The BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST supports, develops, manages, and implements efforts to development the business and markets for THINK Surgical.   

    • Reports to business development senior management   
    • Prepares the yearly agenda of BD programs and manages multiple initiatives, including; tactical plans, budgets, and measurables  
    • Provides inputs to improve programs and create new opportunities that can enhance market entry, growth, and loyalty
    • Contacts potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
    • Collaborates with staff at both the East and Corporate offices to schedule and implement events in the Offices or other locations; such as customer business meetings, technology demonstrations, events, etc.
    • Works with marketing and sales to identify and/or support needs for marketing collateral, event marketing, public relations and other forms of communications for optimal results.
    • Supports customer programs and provides additional interface with customers and business partners to enhance customer relations
    • Attends conferences and meetings to expand business sector knowledge and interact with potential customers
    • Prepares metrics to measure and monitor results and effectiveness of BD programs.
    • Provides updates, status, and reports for various activities
    • Prepares multiple communications to execute programs and efforts that may include; agendas, invitations, announcements, thank-you notes, letters, meeting notes, etc.
    • Researches markets, organization, institutes and individuals to appraise and seek new opportunities  
    • Develop knowledge of business practices and supporting programs with surgeon thought leaders
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, marketing or related field
    • Six plus years in Healthcare space with experience in sales, marketing, program development, or related experiences. Orthopedic experience is desirable   
    • Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers and developing positive relationships
    • Experience in sales, marketing or related field
    • Requires developed leadership skills to work with executive management, business partners, and customers  
    • Highly motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, creative, innovative, and possess good time management skills
    • Able to research and identify business program solutions and opportunities for developing new marketing and customer relationships
    • Active listener with strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills 
    • Ability to manage complex projects and stake-holders, and accustomed to tight deadlines. 
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and project management tools
    • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards.
    • Travel requirements up to 25% in the U.S. with occasional International travel
    • Based in the New Jersey, east coast office
    • High level of integrity and work ethic
