Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 5+ years of experience in medical device development as an electrical engineer. Knowledge and experience in robotics are desired.
- Real-time motion and machine control experience is required.
- Experience with schematic capture tools; Altium is preferred.
- Understanding of optical, magnetic, or vision position technologies, principles, and knowledge of commercially available devices.
- Experience in standard bench test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, etc.
- Recent, product-focused experience designing multilayered PC boards including actual hands-on board layout, bring-up, and debug experience.
- Proven experience with EMI/EMC compliance challenges, design for reliability, and design for manufacturability.
- Experience serial communication implementations at the protocol layer using transports such as LVDS, IEEE-1394, USB, and CAN. Experience with EtherCAT technology is strongly desired.
- Experience implementing microcontroller, FPGA, and/or CPLD-based designs at the architect level.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610E, Acceptability of Electronic Assembly
- Knowledge of ANSI/ESD, Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies and Equipment (Excluding Electrically Initiated Explosive Devices).
- Competent in all phases of the product development life cycle including design, implementation, debug, verification, qualification, design transfer, and maintenance.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows and Office Products
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards, such as ISO 13485:2012, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, EN 14971:2012.
- Attendance and Punctuality are essential function of the position.
- Hands-on engineering, proven ability to work well in a team environment.
