Job Description
Bynder is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated and confident attorney with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to manage changing priorities, the ability to actively engage with customers using commercial sensitivity, and the desire to further improve efficiency in the legal process. You’ll join our close-knit global Legal Team, and your primary area of focus will be partnering with our US Sales Team to negotiate SaaS commercial contracts. As your expertise grows, you’ll partner with our Privacy, Partnerships, Customer Success, and Procurement Teams to help them achieve their fullest potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Sales Team by negotiating SaaS commercial contracts, balancing commercial considerations and Bynder’s legal interests
Support the Partnerships Team by negotiating partner and reseller contracts
Support the Privacy Team by advising on various data protection and security matters
Support the Customer Success Team by collaboratively responding to customer questions and requests
Support the Procurement Team by negotiating vendor contracts
Streamline our customer contracting process
Assist with general legal matters as needed
Qualifications
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO US:
JD with strong academic credentials
Active member of a state bar in the US
At least 3-5 years of practice, preferably experience in both law firm and in-house roles but not maditory
Experience negotiating SaaS commercial contracts and/or technology contracts
Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and data protection
Experience with employment, IP, and bankruptcy law is a plus
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
Experience in a fast-paced sales cycle with monthly and quarterly deadlines
Flexibility in an entrepreneurial environment – in a rapidly scaling company the legal role touches a lot of areas, and priorities and business needs can shift quickly
Ability to work with international colleagues and customers across various time zones
Ability to exercise good judgment in aligning interests across the organization
A positive attitude and a sense of humor
