    EARLY STAGE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER / SR. PROJECT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER  - RENEWABLE ENERGY

    LOCATIONS: FULLY REMOTE OR NEW YORK, NY; HOUSTON, TX; SAN FRANCISCO, CA (RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE)

    A growing renewables venture focused on the development and execution of dynamic utility-scale renewable energy projects is in the process of expanding its Project Development & EPC team. The company has strong private equity backing and has made same notable accomplishments in a relatively short period of time showcasing a portfolio with 10+ projects totaling over 2GW.

    This role will be HEAVILY FOCUSED on the early stage EPC / development process for utility scale renewable energy projects with a HUGE emphasis on the development of RFPs, project estimations, development permitting support, and the technology / equipment selection process.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Renewables Project Manager, Development Engineering / Sr. Project Development Engineer - develops capital cost estimates, feasibility assessments, and milestone schedules to support financial valuation models for the early stage development utility-scale renewables projects (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc)
    • The Renewables Project Manager, Development Engineering / Sr. Project Development Engineer - leads the RFP (request for proposal) process on major utility-scale renewables projects (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc)
    • The Renewables Project Manager, Development Engineering / Sr. Project Development Engineer - leads key early stage EPC project engineering and project management initiatives in the areas of permitting, regulatory approval, and real estate land acquisition activities
    • The Renewables Project Manager, Development Engineering / Sr. Project Development Engineer - acts as a key EPC stakeholder and facilitator of the early stage estimation process for large scale utility-scale renewables projects (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc)
    • The Renewables Project Manager, Development Engineering / Sr. Project Development Engineer - is heavily focused on assessing EPC technology (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc) and site layout options with respect to long-term utility-scale renewable project initiatives
    • The Renewables Project Manager, Development Engineering / Sr. Project Development Engineer - is accountable for performance requirements to deliver maximum potential EPC project value while minimizing execution and operating risks

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5+ years of utility-scale renewable energy experience working with IPPs / Developers / Owners
    • MUST HAVE RECENT EXPERIENCE in project engineering, development (including site-layout, permitting, and/or regulatory approvals), transmission interconnection, procurement/contracting, and pre-construction management specifically in the utility-scale renewables industry
    • Experience in early stage EPC / development phases of utility scale renewable energy projects including engineering design, construction, and feasibility studies with a HUGE emphasis on the RFP and PROJECT ESTIMATION PROCESS
    • Well versed in high level technical project management initiatives such as contractor evaluation and selection, financials, schedules, estimates, contracts, constructability reviews, project phasing and earned value KPIs
    • Working knowledge technical and commercial elements of the major equipment / technology supply, engineering, and pre-construction processes, specifically around battery performance specifications, and warranty negotiation + management
    • Current or previous experience as a Project Manager (E&C), Project Engineer, or Project Development Engineer for large utility-scale renewable energy projects with a focus on solar, energy storage, and battery storage projects
