    PURPOSE:

    As part of the DTC (direct-to-consumer) Visual Excellence team this position will be an integral part of the store planning process.   The Space Planner will be responsible for laying out the customer journey, fixture flow, category /product placement and ensuring the product in own retail stores is reflective of the merchandising plan.  This position will support the NSO (new store opening) and GTM (go-to-market) strategy on an ongoing basis.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Responsible for creating, maintaining, updating and analyzing space plans by location and supports the ongoing space planning process.  

    • Ensure all floor plans are accurate based on the information supplied and follows the Global merchandising guidelines. 

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as VE Field, RE Experience, Merchandising and Global to gather content and create floor plans to support New Store Openings.  

    • Develop Macro and Micro plans for New Store Openings.

    • Produce option counts per store location based on the floor plan to provide to key stakeholders on a seasonal and as needed basis. 

    • Ensure store profile folders are current and have the current floor plan and option counts. 

    • Focus on improving sell-through of adidas footwear, apparel and accessories through visual merchandising excellence.

    • Implement store assortments in conjunction with buying team, considering store groups (to include store size, climate, seasonally, capacity, etc.) to maximize sales, gross profit and GMROI

    • Analyze and recap selling based on space allocation weekly to ensure proper store group/store balance  

    • Provide quantitative analysis to support planning, buying and store planning decisions both preseason and in- season to maximize opportunities

    • Consistently update store capacity models through GROW tool

    • Evaluate adjustments to plans and allocations for performance trends and inventory levels

    • Collaborate with operations, DC, planning and the BU to support strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities

    • React to in season trends by door to ensure that the models are being adjusted appropriately based on each stores performance

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Strong understanding of Visual Merchandising and a visual eye that incorporates the brand aesthetic and strategies
    • Proven passion for visual merchandising and experience working in retail environments
    • Knowledge of retail landscape, visual merchandising, fixture capacities, retail marketing and presentation
    • Strong project management and planning skills. Highly organized with demonstrated follow through capabilities.
    • Knowledge and understanding of business impact and store KPIs 
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to lead discussions in diverse groups of varying size
    • Ability to think conceptually, in strategic terms and diagnose and translate sales/category reporting 
    • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines
    • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment with the ability to inspire to achieve established objectives
    • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Business, Education/Training or related field 
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant Retail and/or Visual Merchandising experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
    • Minimum 3+ years of visual merchandising experience, preferably in a multi-store capacity
