    Legal Counsel – Commercial Agreements - REMOTE

    The Opportunity

    • Report to VP General Counsel

      You will provide legal advice to company personnel so they can achieve business goals while maintaining an acceptable level of risk. The position works with other company lawyers and business personnel to handle the day-to-day legal matters for the business units within the Group, including drafting, analysis and negotiation of commercial and government contractsand legal issues with respect to warranties. You will be the primary legal support for the Procurement and Product Groups.

       

      Specific Responsibilities

      Prepare/review and negotiate all types of contracts on behalf of the business units, including non-disclosure agreements, toll manufacturing or private label arrangements, buy and sell supply agreements, equipment leases, non-compete agreements, consulting agreements, license agreements,warranties and other contracts in support of business strategies and obligations.

      Provide advice and guidance to business personnel on day-to-day legal claims and issues, including third party pre-litigation claims that involve company products, services and insurance matters.

      Develop and present seminars to company personnel on relevant legal issues that affect the business units.

       

       

      The Profile

    • JD with 6+ years’ experience as a practicing attorney
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to explain complicated legal concepts in a manner that is understood by personnel at all levels of the organization
    • Inhouse experience helpful
    • Experience in drafting, revising, analyzing and negotiating commercial agreements
    • Experience in commercial and government contract drafting and review
    • Construction industry experience helpful but not required
    • Service attitude/responsiveness is absolutely essential
    • Business-focused relationship builder who builds trust at all levels of the organization
    • Able to change gears quickly and provide service to a wide range of different needs, business models and personality types
    • Highly proactive and self-motivated, you take ownership of your actions and can function without significant input; but also know when to get support
    • Comfortable drafting educational content and making presentations in large and small group settings
    • Purposeful, results-focused with well-developed prioritization skills
    • Cheerful, resilient, good sense of humor
    • Some travel (domestic and international) is required but this is not a high-travel position
