    GA – based powder coatings manufacturer is looking for an exceptional Site Manager. This is a unique time to join in the company’s growth and development. Parent organization is a public Fortune company.

    You’ll step into a newly-created position. Reporting to the VP Manufacturing, you’ll be the succession candidate for that role, with overall responsibility for yield and productivity improvement at 2 non-union plants currently running 3 shifts, around 200 employees, through 6 direct reports.

    There is full support from upper management; the existing team has bought into the operational improvement plan and much work has been done, but now a strong leader is needed to drive ongoing improvements according to OEE Overall Equipment Effectiveness and LSS Lean Six Sigma principles, and move from reactive to proactive stance in managing the operations. The company is ISO certified and is in process of implementing a new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics, D365) – you’ll be involved with the activation stage. Also, there is significant investment at the sites by the parent company including a $7M capital improvement plan under way.

    Success will be defined in terms of improvements to yield, operational efficiency and margin metrics.

     

    To achieve results in this position you’ll need a combination of the following attributes and experience:

    • BS degree in Operations, Engineering, Chemistry, Business or related field preferred but will consider relevant experience
    • 8+ years of production experience, including 4+ years management experience,
    • Direct powder coatings manufacturing leadership experience REQUIRED – must have a strong understanding of plant processes including extrusion, grinding and blending
    • Ability to analyze daily production metrics (KPI's) and plant reports
    • Good practical understanding of OEE and LSS
    • Proven ability to lead, motivate and drive teams towards ongoing improvement – you’re biased for action and consistently take initiative
    • Change agent, able to institute plans and systems – successful track record of leading measurable improvements in key metrics
    • Proven developer of people – you have mentored team members to take on new responsibilities and progress in their own careers, and your teams have continued to succeed even after you have moved on
    • You enjoy a country lifestyle - this is a rural location
