    Job Description

    Better together than apart. THIS POSITION IS ON-SITE, Thomas Kerns McKnight, LLP is seeking an organized, detailed oriented, and goal driven individual to join our team.

     

    Data Entry / Negotiator would ideally develop relationships with creditors, collection agencies and attorney offices to negotiate on our client’s behalf for a reduced settlement on delinquent and/or charged off accounts.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·         Contact originating creditors, collection agencies and attorney offices in order to negotiate on clients’ behalf for a reduced settlement on delinquent and/or charged off accounts

    ·         Develop relationships with, creditors, collection agencies and attorney offices to negotiate on our client’s behalf for a reduced settlement on delinquent and/or charged off accounts.

    ·         Calculate acceptable percentages for settlement according to guidelines set forth by the department

    ·         Work an open list of clients in order to achieve goals and objectives

    ·         Review client banking accounts to determine funds necessary to complete settlement and payment of company fees

    ·         Gather and submit required documentation for approval and payment of accounts, not limited to transmittal and receipt of various e-faxes to and from creditors, collection agencies, and attorney offices

    ·         Verify all funds available and approve all settlements

    ·         Work closely with Negotiators to correct any errors on settlement requests

    ·         Perform accurate data input into multiple systems as needed

    ·         Process, document, and log payments by various payment methods: mail, phone, online, excel

    ·         Experience with payment processing

    ·         Handle all functions related to the posting, reversing, correction, recording and reporting of payments

    ·         Reporting and various other tasks assigned by direct supervisor

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·         Must have a High School Diploma or GED

    ·         Must be proficient with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    ·         Strong computer skills to accomplish tasks

    ·         Attentive to record keeping, documentation of work performed and required clerical tasks

    ·         Successfully pass a background check

    ·         Prior collections or debt negotiation experience is preferred, but not required

    ·         Experience working in a goal or production environment is also preferred

    ·         Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

    ·         Fundamental knowledge of FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
