  • Responsibilities

    Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Process Engineer for a local client in the Fayetteville, NC area.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    Process Optimization:

    • Analyze existing smelting, melting, and casting processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall process performance.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvements to achieve operational excellence.

    Technology Evaluation:

    • Stay abreast of the latest technologies and advancements in aluminum smelting, melting, and casting processes.
    • Evaluate new technologies and tools that could improve process efficiency, quality, and safety.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that process improvements do not compromise product quality.
    • Implement measures to enhance product quality and consistency.

    Cost Reduction:

    • Identify opportunities to reduce production costs without compromising safety or product quality.
    • Implement cost-effective solutions to drive operational efficiency.

    Training and Development:

    • Provide training and support to operational staff on new processes and improvements.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the production team.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Work closely with the safety team to ensure that all process improvements adhere to safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.

    Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Collect and analyze data to track the performance of smelting, melting, and casting processes.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on key metrics and improvement initiatives to stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
    • Proven experience in process improvement within the aluminum smelting, melting, or casting industry.
    • Strong knowledge of aluminum production processes and associated technologies.
    • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
    • Experience with process simulation software.
    • Familiarity with automation and control systems in aluminum manufacturing.
