This position would support existing projects in the Northeastern geographic region, serving as an in-market addition to our A&E / Civil Engineering team based out of Raleigh, NC.     A&E and Civil Engineering Market Lead - Northeast

    The pursuing firm is seeking an extremely talented, growth-oriented leader to guide the further development of our A&E and Civil Engineering Department in the Northeast market. As this role presents significant growth potential, we are seeking a candidate with a special combination of technical expertise, client management skills, and a passion for leadership and entrepreneurial growth. This role is ideally suited for a client-focused, market experienced senior engineer capable of using their experience, business acumen, and management abilities to elevate an existing market presence to an expanded level of success.

    Market Lead Responsibilities

    Manage A&E and civil-site development projects from commencement through final permit approval with little to no supervision

    Serve as the main point of contact for client, client representatives (attorneys, contractors, etc.) and judicial representatives on in-market projects

    Serve as client representative and expert-witness for public hearing testimony associated with assigned projects

    Develop site plans for telecommunication and small commercial developments including overall site layouts, grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, plan and elevation views, utility plans, etc.

    Serve as a senior technical resource for department personnel

    Perform computer-aided design of all site development related components including but not limited to grading, utilities, spatial layout of infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and stormwater to produce plans in accordance with various standards and criteria

    Review and QA/QC of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff

    Assist younger engineers and drafters regarding site development design and drafting principles

    Maximize utilization of existing resources, equipment, and personnel, making changes as necessary

    Lead the formulation and implementation of a strategic plan that guides the direction of the market and achieves the market’s financial initiatives and growth

    Perform quality inspection of department deliverables, providing coaching/training to teams as necessary to improve delivered product

    Work with project coordinator(s) to proactively track project schedules, taking action as schedule expectations dictate

    Contributing to the sales and profitability of the business through strategic business development

    Develops client relationships, client retention practices, and grows/maintains revenue streams

    Maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards

    The selected individual will be expected to have a thorough understanding of A&E and Civil Engineering services, particularly in the telecommunications industry, including how they contribute to and affect the successful delivery of a turn-key end product from both a technical and scheduling standpoint. Due to the nature and limited timelines of most projects, the selected candidate must be willing and capable of exhibiting the work ethic, interpersonal communication, and sociability skills to succeed in a fast paced environment where timely, professional and effective communication with co-workers, clients and strategic partners is paramount.

    Computer Software Experience

    In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and advanced Excel functions is required

    Experience with computer drafting software, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, is preferred

    Experience/Minimum Requirements

    Minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience and demonstrated proficiency in the telecommunications-related A&E or the civil engineering field, focusing on site development.

    Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project management

    Professional Engineer (PE) certification that is current and registered in at least one state

    Experience managing site development projects at a holistic level is required

    Experience in the telecommunications field is strongly preferred

    If candidate does not have experience in the telecommunications industry:

    Experience designing all aspects (grading, stormwater, utilities, erosion control, infrastructure layout, etc.) of civil site development is requiredOR

    Candidate should have experience in energy or other utility related industries and possess the ability to develop a business line in those verticals

    Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client and strategic partner relationships
