Accounts Receivable Customer Care Specialist

In this full-time team player role, you will provide excellent customer service as the main contact for customers and pharmacy personnel through phone and intranet requests. Multi-tasking, analytical and organizational skills will be essential for success in this position. Hours are on a rotating schedule between 7:30-5:00, Monday through Friday.
Some of the major responsibilities include:
Providing excellent service to customers and pharmacies via telephone and in writing.
Addressing all aspects of the customer or pharmacy issue while on the phone, including researching billing questions, rebilling claims, completing Prior Authorization requests, and taking payment information over the phone. If immediate resolution is not possible or additional research is needed, provide timely follow up.
Restricting and reopening charging privileges on private pay accounts as appropriate.
Processing customer payments via online application, ensuring accuracy with each transaction.
Verifying customer demographics, ensuring account accuracy and HIPAA compliance.
Processing refunds as requested by customers and based on internal procedures.
Researching and resolving private pay account balances, including billing / rebilling to facility accounts or third party insurance, creating payment plans, and working with collections.
Using TWRx, insurance websites, People Soft, Intranet, Internet, MN ITS, Office Ally, and other resources as needed to complete rebilling.
Billing customers as appropriate for copays and non-covered items to ensure payment is received and applied.
Forwarding uncollectible accounts and report payments to collection agency as needed.
Documenting actions taken and scanning correspondence as appropriate to customer accounts.
Identifying areas of improvement within the Customer Care team. Partnering with leadership to assist in implementing improvements to these processes.
Maintaining confidentiality of all patient PHI, following HIPAA guidelines and TW processes.
Assisting with special projects as needed and requested by leadership.
Desired skills include:
Pharmacy Technician/Pharmacy Billing Experience
Customer Service/Call Center Experience
Moderate Excel experience/Accounts Receivable Experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills/Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
Detail oriented/Willingness to learn and expand knowledge
