    Pharmacy Intern

    Thrifty White Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Intern in #061 Fargo, North Dakota to provide exposure to in all aspects of the community pharmacy setting and to let them practice as many pharmacist duties as they are prepared to handle (per State Board requirements).

    The Patient Care Center at Thrifty White Pharmacy is looking for summer interns interested in broadening their knowledge of Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs. MTM services, such as Comprehensive and Targeted Medication reviews, play an increasingly large role in pharmacy reimbursement and pharmacy network eligibility. As interns, these services provide an opportunity in transforming theoretical knowledge gleaned in class into tangible outcomes for patients.

    Interns will be working with patients to ensure correct and safe medication therapies are adhered to while providing recommendations to prescribers should there be a need to intervene. The internship will touch upon platforms frequently used by most major pharmacies such as Outcomes and as well as up-and-coming platforms like PrescribeWellness.

    This summer internship strives to provide the full patient-care experience: from identifying a problem and contacting the provider, to receiving the prescription, handling insurance issues, and filling the medication for retail and Long Term Care Patients to ensure patients receive it on time.

    At the end of the internship, interns will have a firm handle on pharmacotherapies for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, asthma, and COPD as well as understanding when certain vaccine recommendations are appropriate for patients.
