Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanics will need to have basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical industrial manufacturing maintenance.

Essential Functions - Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.

• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
• Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
• Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Provides data for maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Work Experience - Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing and code books
• Basic mechanical, welding and cutting skills
• Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints
• Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality
• Have basic workbench and computer skills
• Basic knowledge of relay logic, AC/DC motor drives, PLC & SLC and motor control circuits
• Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books
• Repair knowledge of pumps, compressors, gear boxes and blowers

Physical Demands and Work Environment - Extensive mechanical and electrical knowledge

• Frequently required standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use hand tools
• Ability to read applicable instructions
• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
