    Our expanding law practice is looking for a paralegal with strong knowledge of all aspects of Family Law who can hit the ground running as we build our perfect team. You will be a member of a dynamic and developing team. Applicants must be experienced, well-organized professionals who can work alone and with minimal supervision. Because this is a full-time position, you must work 40 hours weekly in the office. Compensation is negotiable based on experience, Characteristics: • Detail-oriented to keep track of key dates and avoid costly mistakes. • Self-starter with the ability to independently seek out new projects • Team-oriented with the necessary flexibility of a growing law firm. • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks, so we never miss deadlines. Responsibilities: • Exceeding billable hour requirements • Managing the attorneys’ calendars • Managing filing and other deadlines Providing legal support services in the form of: • Interviewing clients and witnesses to obtain the necessary facts and information. • Explaining applicable firm and external policies and procedures to clients. • Acting as a liaison between the client and other parties, witnesses, and persons relative to the legal matter. • Attending and assisting at trials, depositions, hearings, and other meetings. • Drafting quality legal documents (i.e., pleading templates) and correspondence without oversight. • Producing quality work with no spelling or grammar mistakes and has little need for revision. • Performing legal research and information gathering under the direction of an attorney, Including county-specific local rules, judge-specific policies and procedures, county-specific filing procedures and fees, and similar information. • Preparing summaries of research results with conclusions. • Assisting in a trial, hearing, deposition, and other preparation. • Tracking all administrative, billable, and non-billable time in the Firm’s practice management software. • Performing quality control checks on all client files to ensure they are kept according to the Firm’s File Keeping Policy and Procedure. • Preparing legal documents for filing with the court. • Knowing or obtaining the various filing requirements for Superior Court, Cambria County, and surrounding county courts so that legal documents are successfully accepted and filed with the courts. • Independence and Decision-Making. Compensation: $40,000 - $50,000 yearly
