    Job Description

    Design and user experience are at the forefront of everything we do. Designers at Tidepool partner closely with cross-functional team members from Product, Engineering, Marketing and Support.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated U Engineer intern to join our team for Summer 2021.

    As a UI Engineer Intern, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to help craft enjoyable user experiences, taking on projects from ideation through execution. You will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions at Tidepool.

    What you’ll do:

    • Own and execute visual design/UI projects from concept through delivery.
    • Weave space, typography, color, iconography together to help people successfully navigate our products. 
    • Work with engineers to implement UI/UX changes to our web products.
    • Implement our visual design systems across platforms (mobile, responsive web, Support tools) in keeping with Tidepool brand standards .
    • Work directly with other designers and front end developers.
    • Interface with various internal stakeholders.
    • Participate in design critique.

    • You use your own judgment to move work forward and to seek guidance when needed.
    • You have a strong knowledge of visual design fundamentals including layout, color, and typography.
    • You have a strong portfolio that demonstrates your practice of visual design and UI, focusing on user-centered design principles and practices.
    • Strong working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design. 
    • Comfortable making stylistic changes to code.
    • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

    You have a minimum of 10 weeks of full-time availability—this internship has a flexible start date. Please list your preferred start date in your screening questions.

    Bonus Points:

    • Experience with JavaScript and/or React
    • Experience in illustration and/or background in graphic design

    Additional Information
