A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TIGERS IMPORT SPECIALIST

• Handling ocean import accounts for the branch from A to Z, and can expand into air import handling depending on experience
• Booking confirmations with overseas offices and customers
• Providing rate quotes on potential shipments
• Determining and recommending shipment costs and routing options to the customer
• Completing FMC and ISF filing on designated shipment files
• Tracking and tracing shipments
• Arranging collection and deliveries of freight for international import moves 
• Completing all necessary import documentation in order to remain compliant with regulations.
• Taking operational, routing, and customer service responsibility for all files handled
• Using a preferred list of truckers and vendors to identify customer solutions based on rates and service
• Preparing and reviewing import documentation for Customs Broker.
• Handling clearance for OGA (F&W, FDA, FCC, DOT, etc.)
• Completing entries for import files
• Remaining compliant with government, industry and company standards
• Processing billing and invoicing for the shipment
• Supporting accounting with regards to outstanding payment collection
• Establishing a positive relationship with both internal and external customers and vendors
• Informing customers and vendors of updates and changes with freight movements
• Performing additional duties as assigned

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A TIGER? 

• 3+ years of experience in international ocean import operations
• Air import experience is a plus
• CargoWise experience is a plus
