Position Status: Non-exempt; Hourly
Reports to: Foreman
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for completing all duties related to finishing up projects as directed by the Foreman or immediate Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a SAFE working environment and informing Supervisor of any problems.
- Loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
- Cleaning, stocking, and prep work as needed.
- Cleaning of all hand tools and equipment used to perform work.
- Grouting, cleaning, and caulking of products (ceramic tile, marble, granite, brick pavers, blue stone, terrazzo, etc.).
- Mixing of any materials (thinset, mortar, concrete, latex, epoxies, etc.).
- Operating any equipment used during the refurbishing, fabrication, and/or installation of various materials, such as; granite, marble, ceramic tile, brick pavers, cementatious and epoxy terrazzo.
- Performs any other duties as required by the Foreman or Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION-EXPERIENCE:
- Average verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and write at an 8th grade level.
- Comprehends basic math at an 8th grade level.
- Related experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE-SKILLS-ABILITIES:
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work with all types of hand and power tools.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Must have manual dexterity and be able to crawl/bend as job might require.
- Ability to lift, move, carry, and push in excess of 100 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to work overtime.
- Must posses his/her own basic hand tools.
- Ability to work at different job locations.
- Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team.
TYPICAL EQUIPMENT USED:
- Hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, buffers, grinding machines.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- The working environment is usually inside but can be outside, even during inclement weather conditions. It can be of minimal noise or fairly loud. The position requires constant mobility, use of hands, standing, bending, crawling, lifting, etc., for long periods of time. The position also requires the routine lifting, carrying, pushing, and moving of material weighing in excess of 100 lbs. Overtime is required for this position
