    Job Description

    Boutique plastic surgery practice with innovative industry leading plastic surgeon. We are looking for a tech-savvy, artistic social media maven who can help grow our brand. We are offering a paid summer internship commencing in March 2020, with the possibility of a part-time or full-time continuing engagement thereafter. We are results-driven and our surgeon is well connected in the healthcare IT, digital health and medical device industry as well.

    What we need is someone to:

    1. Design, create and distribute high quality social media postings and track performance on Instagram, Facebook, Snap and other potential channels. Some asset creation may be done in partnership with another external videographer/content creator.

    2. Build branded content for a variety of specialty surgery procedures for distribution on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, RealSelf and other portals

    3. Work with our external brand marketing/SEO company on enhanced campaigning and media exposure

    4. Conceive, schedule, plan, and host marketing events to engage the community - meet and great, lunch and learn, community lectures, Botox/Liquid Lift office parties, etc.

    5. Explore and nurture media relations to enhance the surgeon's media exposure and expert positioning (we do not currently use an external PR firm but PR would be a portion of this job role at times, and at other times may involve agencies with whom you would run point)

    6. Standardize and catalog digital images for our clinical photo gallery using digital tools to reinforce our brand (Pixelmator, Photoshop, etc. along with watermarking and photo collage editors) and improve consistency of our marketing collateral

    7. Develop innovative marketing and patient engagement strategies leveraging existing technologies - or help us design and build our own custom patient engagement applications!

    8.  Upload, tag and organize photos, videos and other media assets for syndication to various marketing platforms and for medical record keeping using our tools (RxPhoto, electronic medical record tools, and/or others)

     

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's Degree in marketing, computer science, film/video/art design or other field that includes the study of digital technology and its business and marketing applications HIGHLY DESIRED;

    2. At least 2 years experience building content and disseminating across digital and social media platforms, with work product you can show us from your portfolio;

    3. Real world experience with social media platforms (particularly Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook), with expertise in leveraging different types of content for different campaign goals and audiences;

    4. Flexible schedule to allow a minimum of 15 hours a week and possible full-time engagement after an initial 90 day probationary contracting period;

    5. Impeccable ethics and respect for patient privacy;

    6. Strong work habits, timely ability to deliver work product on a fast-paced and exciting schedule and good team spirit!

     

    Resources:

    We will provide you the necessary technology for developing work product including a work laptop and access to our digital media accounts, creative tool suite as mutually agreed upon for content creation, and access to a GoogleGlass, Snapchat Spectacles, digital cameras and any other reasonable tools that can help you help us!

    Timeline:

    We need someone quickly as demand for content is quickly outpacing our ability to create and deploy in this rapidly growing practice! We will initially work with you as a 1099 independent contractor (maximum flexibility for both parties) for an initial 90 day term with a guarantee of 15 hours a week minimum. We anticipate the right candidate can turn this into a full time employed opportunity after we see the kind of work you do and you decide if we are a good fit for you! 

     

    Our surgeon has served on the admission committee of his med school alma mater (UCSF), has his MBA from Kellogg (top business school) and is eager to help mentor young people interested in careers in medicine and technology!
