    Job Title: Ecologist/Wetland Specialisit

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ecologist/Wetland Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience in conducting scientific research on wetland environments, ecosystems and biodiversity. The Ecologist/Wetland Scientist will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental management plans, gathering data and monitoring wetlands to ensure ecological sustainability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct ecological assessments, habitat evaluations and impact studies on wildlife species and vegetation in wetlands.
    • Develop environmental management plans and mitigation strategies to address environmental challenges and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations and legislation, and apply these laws to environmental projects.
    • Design, implement and supervise wetland monitoring programs, and gather data to determine wetland ecological health and sustainability.
    • Analyze data related to hydrology, water quality, nutrient cycling, and wetland management practices to make recommendations for improved ecological sustainability.
    • Write technical reports, publications and presentations related to ecological research and management work.
    • Collaborate with other professionals, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective project implementation.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience conducting ecological research in wetlands.
    • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Proficient computer skills and experience with statistical software, GIS, and wetland management.
    • Ability to operate GPS units and other field data collection equipment.
