Job Description

AECOM is seeking a GIS Specialist to be based in Raleigh, NC

This position is expected to begin in November , 2023

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Support activities related to the FEMA National Flood Insurance (NFIP) and Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) Programs
• Assist with activities related to Coordinated Needs Management Strategy (CNMS) data and the validation assessment of flood hazard data
• Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping
• Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
• Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
• Use concepts, practices and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients
• Support natural disasters incidents when they occur
• Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation
• Independently executes and delivers GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexity

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree In Geography or a related field plus 2 years of related expirience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

• ArcMap and ArcPro experience
• Microsoft Office experience
• Experience with the FEMA NFIP and Risk MAP Program
• Experience with FEMA Coordinated Needs Management Strategy (CNMS)
