    Job Description

    Timmons Group is currently looking for several qualified, self-motivated and experienced Telecommunications Construction Inspectors to join our team in our Richmond, VA office. Construction inspectors are responsible for inspecting systems, job sites and materials to ensure the work meets quality standards, codes, and design. Successful candidates will be responsible for conducting field inspections for aerial and underground fiber construction, along with the timely reporting and tracking of potential problems, violations and other concerns to appropriate supervisors using advanced reporting technologies.

    **Essential duties and responsibilities ****** include but are not limited to the following:

    • Inspect the work of contractors and subcontractors on underground and Aerial fiber optic cable installation.
    • Monitor infrastructure builds and reviews and approves work that has met customer’s construction standards.
    • Identify and report any defects, damages, or deviations from construction plans.
    • Use advanced technology to document and maintain records of the inspection results, test data, and corrective actions.
    • Communicate and coordinate with the project manager, engineers, and other stakeholders on the project status, issues, and solutions.
    • Provide technical guidance and training to the field staff and contractors on the best practices and procedures of telecommunication construction

    Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

    • Graduation from high school or equivalent
    • 0-6 years experience as a telecommunications construction inspector or similar role preferred
    • Knowledge of the telecommunication industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and manuals.
    • Computer skills, to include Microsoft Office, GIS, and other customer specific web-based programs.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
    • Willingness to travel and work in various weather conditions and locations.
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
