    Job Description

    Atlanta-based Tip Top Cocktails, an independent company that produces tiny, delicious canned cocktails, is one of the leaders in the #1 fastest growing adult beverage category. The team is looking for a multi-dimensional candidate to play a critical role in building a world-class cocktail brand while partnering across the business to ensure our accounting systems and processes are running smoothly. Our goal is to be scalable as we push towards best-in-class operations.

    Tip Top’s ideal Accounting Manager candidate will assist the CFO in: managing inventory reporting and documentation, owning close tasks, managing product margin, including revenue, inventory and the associated cost of goods sold, and supporting accrual-based accounting month-end/year-end close cycle. Experience working in a high growth and fast-paced environment will be extremely helpful. A strong work ethic, high professional standards, and the capacity to get things done independently are essential for this role. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated and ambitious individual with an eye for detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
    • 4+ years of inventory accounting experience, ideally in the BevAlc or CPG industry
    • Strong knowledge in application of accrual-based accounting policies and practices
    • Experience with monthly close procedures including generating journal entries and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
    • Solid understanding of accounting life-cycle and all that it entails for startups and growing businesses to succeed
    • Familiarity with Sales and Excise tax calculations and submissions
    • Excited about navigating a hyper-growth, rapidly changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
    • A highly collaborative and communicative team player and self-starter willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, data charts, etc.)
    • Ability to adapt to change, effectively manage multiple tasks/projects, and provide timely feedback and visibility while keeping management aware of key issues
    • Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through
    • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, able to communicate complex concepts and risk factors to stakeholders and influence decision making
    • Super serious about your work (without taking yourself too seriously)

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work closely with CFO in performing the accounting close and reporting process, assuring that month-end, quarterly, and year-end close tasks and reconciliations are completed accurately and timely
    • Support the preparation of month-end journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules (payroll, cash, accruals, prepaids, allocations, and application of inventory)
    • Support the accounts payable process to ensure proper and consistent coding and timely payments for vendors and employee expenses
    • Review product margin activities during the month-end close while maintaining a pulse on COGS and gross margin accuracy
    • Work closely with the Supply Chain lead to manage and implement changes to inventory
    • Review and analyze monthly supply chain activity and determine additional monthly accruals or required adjusting journal entries 
    • Support the accounting function while driving efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of Tip Top’s high-growth business
    • Work on monthly forecast against budget including cash flow projections
    • Build models and develop key metrics that support Tip Top’s strategic direction (i.e., profitability, margin optimization, sales productivity, marketing impact and efficiency, revenue growth, unit economics)
    • Provide ad-hoc analysis for the Accounting team and senior management

    EXTRA CREDIT

    • 2+ years start-up or early stage ($5-20MM revenue) experience
    • QuickBooks experience
    • Experience with Bill.com and Expensify
    • Proud holder of a CPA (or looking to be one very soon!)
