    Required Skills

    Reporting to the Director of Tax, the Staff Tax Accountant will be responsible for the following contributions:

     

    • Assist in calculation of mid-year and year-end tax provisions and preparation of required supporting schedules;
    • Work closely with Business Unit Finance departments to ensure accurate tax compliance, including development of best practices and standardization of methods and recordkeeping, where available;
    • Prepare timely response to tax notices;
    • Sales & use tax compliance for Corporate Office and Mid-Atlantic Business Unit;
    • Compliance with unclaimed property laws, including working with Business Units to ensure due diligence is performed in accordance with applicable state requirements and that required reports are filed in a timely manner;
    • Compliance with fleet requirements to include registration, licensing, permitting and taxes, including maintaining the database and working with the Business Units to minimize such taxes;
    • Assist with tax authority audits including sales & use tax, excise tax, etc.;
    • Research and document tax issues, as assigned;
    • Various tax projects including sales tax managed compliance agreements, etc.;
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Experience

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in accounting.
    • Minimum of 1-3 years professional tax accounting experience.
    • Working knowledge of state income tax laws and regulations.
    • Strong research, writing and analytical skills
    • Must work well with time constraints and diverse groups of internal customers.
    • CPA or candidate, preferred
