We have an excellent opportunity for a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL position for Separation Technologies, a Titan America business specializing in the processing and sales of ProAsh®, our brand of fly ash which serves as a valuable additive for use in the manufacture of ready mix concrete. Separation Technologies possesses a proprietary electrostatic technology which we use to produce ProAsh® at coal fired power plants in the United States and overseas and we have earned a reputation as one of the leaders in the world in fly ash beneficiation.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Prospect for fly ash growth opportunities in the coal fired electric generation industry by:
- Promoting Separation Technologies proprietary electrostatic carbon separation process to the coal fired power industry with the goal of developing new sources of ProAsh® for use in concrete.
- Pursuing unprocessed fly ash marketing contracts with coal fired utilities by prospecting for untapped sources of marketable fly ash and bidding on current sources of marketable fly ash through a competitive bidding process.
- Develop and maintain database of 1) coal fired electric generation industry including potential sourcing targets, 2) competitive presence 3) down-stream market for fly ash in concrete applications
- Liaise with engineering to develop processing plant design plans, cost estimates, and business models.
- Liaise with finance and sales to take CAPEX and cost estimates and develop business plans and economic proformas of potential opportunities.
- Assist in the development of contracts with utility clients through the negotiation of contract terms, review with internal counsel, and presentation to members of the Executive Committee
- Gather/analyze business requirements and identify and pre-qualify potential sources of fly ash generation.
- Build excellent relationships/partnerships with all cross functional areas to assure group success within Titan America.
- Collaborate with sales team to understand requirements to promote the partnerships between Titan America, Utility Power Plants and the concrete industry.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products and services to customers and prospective customers.
- Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the creation, use and maintenance of products
- Perform walk-through evaluations, feasibility studies and troubleshooting of coal fired power plants to assess the viability of growth opportunities at the target site(s). Ability to understand how major equipment such as boilers, precipitators, separators, and power generation are integrated into an overall system is a plus
- Travel is at least 50% or more

Required Experience
- Bachelors of Science or equivalent degree in Engineering, Technology Construction Management or related technical program or a Master’s in Business.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the utilities, energy, and infrastructure fields is preferred.
- Good understanding of construction materials and/or fly ash, bottom ash aggregate and mineral fillers is preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Demonstrated ability to build business relationships (alliances)
