REPORTS TO: Director
FLSA STATUS: Exempt (Salaried)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct ownership of the data processing architecture, design, development, and operational management.
- Execute and deliver full data lifecycle including ingestion, storage, querying, and processing using big data and cloud processing toolsets.
- Develop and deploy AWS CloudFormation templates and work with DevOps engineers for automated deployments and infrastructure management.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering team to continuously evaluate the lowest cost of ownership of data modeling, throughput processing, retention, and lifecycle management.
- Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or additional work experience in lieu of degree is required.
- 6+ years of experience in data processing and cloud engineering roles is required.
- Prior experience with AWS Data Lake and related AWS processing tooling required
- Prior experience with MSSQL Server or Postgres SQL required
- Experience with ETL tooling such as AWS Glue Studio or similar toolsets preferred
- Experience with Microsoft PowerBI or other Analytical BI platforms preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills with experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving complex engineering and throughput challenges.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- AWS Certification(s) Preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time in a temperature-controlled office environment for approximately 8 hours per day.
- Frequent and repetitive use of fingers, hands, and arms for tasks such as typing, writing, moving a mouse, etc.
- Occasionally lifts office equipment, supplies, or other items of approximately 50lbs.
- Ability to travel by air, vehicle, or other means approximately 5% of the time.
- To accommodate travel needs, must be able to transport suitcase and laptop estimated at 40lbs.
- To accommodate travel needs, must be able to operate rental or personal motor vehicle.
