    The Position: We’re actively looking for an LMHP or LMHP-R to work with our Client’s community crisis response program. This role will co-respond to crises in the community with a Lynchburg Police Officer.

    Salary and Benefits:

    • Salary Range: $45,365 to $72,584 (depending on experience and licensure status).

    Requirements:

    • Must have completed a 60-credit Master’s Degree (with 600 completed intern hours) in relevant Human Service field (Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Etc.)
    • Licensure in the state of Virginia as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP or LMHP-R.
    • If LMHP-R, must be eligible to register as LMHP-E within three months of hire.
    • Two years of program specific work experience (required)
    • 1-2 years experience of prior crisis response experience in the field of mental health is strongly preferred. Relevant education may be considered.
    • Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized when needed
    • No Virginia Barrier Crimes on Record. See the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) for list of VA Barrier Crimes.
    • Must have valid Drivers License
    • Knowledge in DSM-V diagnoses

    Responsibilities:

    • 37.5 hours per week
    • Work in tandem with an LPD Officer during peak mental health crisis hours to respond to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in the community.
    • Develop and implement appropriate collaborative treatment approaches and support services to avert emergency custody orders, detention orders, inpatient hospitalization or involvement in the criminal justice system toward needed treatment and support services.
    • On-site role, not eligible for telehealth.
    • Provide direct treatment to individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
