Position Overview
We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a System Administrator. The ideal candidate will excel at obtaining results in a face paced environment, have excellent problem solving and communication skills, and can connect technology to real-world business challenges.
This individual will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Additionally, will provide support and assist with training, research and implementation of new technologies to meet the growing needs of the company. Good communication skills and a desire to work around others is essential.
Qualifications
Typically has a bachelor’s degree in MIS or computer science or equivalent experience.
Four to six years of system and network administration experience
Microsoft certification, CCNA, or CCNP are a plus
Broad experience administrating Windows operating systems
Experience with troubleshooting applications and preventative maintenance
Experience with VMware or Hyper-V hypervisors
Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, and third-party applications
Broad understanding of the local and wide-area networking technologies
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
Strong technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware and PC internal components
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
Good understanding of business data flow and ERP systems
Key Responsibilities
Monitor desktop and associated network system performance
Plan, document, deploy and manage all desktop support services
Deploy software installs where needed
Support and maintain mobile devices and tablets
Maintain copiers, printers, and peripherals
Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure efficient operation of the company’s computing environment
Receive and respond to incoming helpdesk calls and tickets, and/or e-mails
Develop and maintain an inventory of all laptops, desktops, monitors, and other equipment
Work with third party support and equipment vendors to provide adequate solutions
Work with external vendors to maintain network including evaluating performance issues, security, and growth planning
Conduct research on a variety of IT solutions, evaluate and recommend products for purchases
Train users to work with computer, hardware, software and services
Respond promptly to system outages, service issues, and user requests for technical assistance
