    We are growing rapidly and searching for Tax Preparer to join our firm. Our firm has been established for over 20 plus years and is in downtown Hermosa Beach. We are one of the largest and well-known firms in Hermosa Beach Community. We focus on high-net-worth individuals, businesses, trusts, and estate tax returns. We firmly believe in work-life balance and make this a priority for our staff offering flexible work schedules. Our firm has experienced significant growth and based on this growth, we have a need for an experienced individual with tax knowledge and experience in preparing tax returns.

    Responsibilities:

    Will work directly with the tax team to prepare individual, corporate and partnership tax returns. Under the direction of experienced CPA’s, you will:

    Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), and corporations (1120 and 1120S) income tax returns to satisfy compliance requirements and support effective business/tax planning.

    Collect necessary information and prepare work papers to firms’ standards

    Preparation of financial statements and adjusting journal entries as needed to support the tax returns.

    Work with clients or employers on the tax preparation process

    Collect relevant financial records, including pay stubs, 1099’s, K-1’s and income statements

    Input data from financial records into tax return software or databases

    Use applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return

    Complete and file tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state, and local government entities

    Build customer relationships to promote and expand the business

    Minimum Qualifications of the Tax Preparer:

    Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (preferably Accounting Degree)

    Minimum of 2 years of experience preparing tax returns

    Experience with all types of individuals, partnership, and corporate tax returns

    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet research

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Extremely client focused

    Capable of multi-tasking and completing projects before deadline dates

    Understands need for urgency in meeting deadlines and embraces personal accountability

    ‘Nice-To-Have’ Qualifications:

    · CPA or EA Candidate

    · Proficient in Lacerte Tax Preparation software

    · Proficient in QuickBooks accounting, Office Tools software
