    Professional Development Coordinator – Washington, DC

    We are working with a major law firm that is seeking a Professional Development Coordinator for its Washington, DC office. This a non-exempt position that reports to the Professional Development Managers.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • 2-3 years of administrative support experience in a professional setting, with some experience in Professional Development. Prior law firm experience is highly preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact in a professional manner with lawyers and other personnel at all levels.
    • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
    • Ability to work in a collegial team environment, as well as to take initiative and work independently. Client service oriented.
    • Strong computer skills and exposure to database search and data entry, preferably a human resource or learning management system. (Knowledge of viGlobal is a plus.)
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the Manager of Legal Personnel and Professional Development Managers for all lawyer performance evaluation processes and pipeline analysis.
    • Work with the Manager of Legal Personnel and Professional Development Managers on necessary updates to evaluation processes and facilitate all changes.
    • Create and maintain relationships within the Firm at all levels, establishing a reputation as a trusted resource for information and process guidance.
    • Draft communication, track evaluation completion, oversee scheduling of meetings, and analyze data for evaluation processes.
    • Set process timelines and create evaluation systems in viDesktop.
    • Draft and send all process communications collaborating with Managers in DC and Firm-wide professional development staff.
    • Track the processes in all offices, assist with system issues, create reports, and schedule evaluation, when necessary.
    • Serve as the primary administrative support for the Evaluation Committee and Management Committee with regard to the senior process. This involves being primarily responsible for keeping all related data and documents consistently up to date.
    • Coordinate the process that determines which lawyers will enter the senior process.
    • Track completion and coordinate with all offices regarding necessary associate and evaluator input in the senior process.
    • Compile all electronic and hard copy records that Evaluation Committee members need to first review files and then meet to discuss files.
    • Compile all electronic and hard copy records that Management Committee members need to review.
    • Compile and distribute evaluation information to practice group leaders for review.
    • Serve as viEval administrator; work in collaboration with IT to design, update, and maintain database needs.
    • Collect and maintain associate action plans, and track issues requiring follow-up.
    • Oversee collection of spreadsheet data on associate profiles and associate departures.
    • Provide general administrative support for the Professional Development Team as needed, including preparing business correspondence and other documents, coordinating meetings and travel, etc.

    Compensation will be dependent on experience; base salary is flexible.
