  • Responsibilities

    The ACCOUNTS PAYABLE will be exposed to all functions of month-end close, research and analysis, and internal controls. This position will report to the accounting manager.

     1. MONTH END CLOSE

    • Pays careful attention to detail while performing data entry tasks.
    • Ensure credits are received for any outstanding memos.
    • Pays employees by preparing checks and answering requests for advances, though this depends on the organization.
    • Processes vendor payments.
    • Keeps account ledgers by posting transactions.
    • Ensure Vendors are properly entered if they qualify for a 1099
    • Resolves purchase orders and payment discrepancies.
    • Codes transactions to the General Ledger.
    • Prepare Billing Reports for Payroll department to bill client.
    • Prepare, send, retrieve and reconcile about 20 Credit Card Statement
    • Sort and distribute mails
    1.  PROCESS IMPROVEMENT/RESEARCH
    • Assist accounting manager in researching to ensure GAAP compliance
    • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes
    • Implementing new ideas to streamline workflow
    1.  AD HOC
    • Provide additional reporting as needed
    • Assist accounting manager in additional projects

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related major
    • 0-2 years of accounting and or general ledger experience
    • Proficiency in Excel & solid understanding of GAAP
