Requirements: Up to 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
Qualifications: A college degree in education, human services, or human development is preferred. Consideration will be given to a candidate’s education and experience.
Job Goal: The Toddler Classroom Aide is to treat each child with love recognizing that each and every one is a child of God. Aides should provide attentive, proactive support to both the lead teacher and students in order to maintain a safe, nurturing, and effective learning environment. A classroom aide should be dependable, readily available, and willing to assist the classroom teacher with any necessary tasks throughout the day. This includes the ability to observe and assess the needs of students and respond appropriately without requiring direct instruction. Above all, the aide should foster a warm, loving atmosphere by interacting with children in a gentle, patient, and compassionate way, helping them feel secure, valued, and encouraged to learn and grow.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
o Support the mission of the school.
Assist classroom teacher in supervision of a class of up to ten students ages 18 to 36 months.
Discuss assigned duties with classroom teacher to coordinate planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Prepare lesson materials and bulletin board displays as needed or directed by the classroom teacher.
Support children with personal care needs, such as diaper changes or bathroom assistance, in a respectful and hygienic manner
Assist in maintaining an organized and clean classroom
Provide a warm and loving atmosphere for students.
Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings (after school on Tuesday)
Assist with and attend special events sponsored by the school (Orientation, field trips, etc.) as needed
Perform any other duties as directed by the Director
Regular attendance is expected. St. Anne’s follows the City of Salem School System regarding holidays and snow days. The contract will include 5 teacher workdays (4 before school begins in August/September and 1 after school ends in May).
