    Once Upon a Childcare is looking for a Toddler Teacher to join our team! As a teacher, you will create an age-appropriate lesson plan, build relationships with your families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children. We are looking for happy, smiling faces to join our one-of-a-kind program and create a fun, engaging environment for our children and families.

    Responsibilities:

    Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for children between 24-36 months of age

    Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children

    Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem

    Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments

    Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a carefully designed curriculum (e.g., identifying shapes, numbers, and colors, engaging in art, etc.).

    Track children's progress and report to parents

    Communicate regularly with parents to understand the children's backgrounds.

    Collaborate with other educators.

    Maintain a clean, tidy classroom in accordance with health and safety standards.

    Benefits:

    All Employees will accrue Personal Time and PTO hours that do not expire and can roll over to the following year.

    Sick Pay will be accrued up to 48 hours, applied to each employee's policy, and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.

    We will help you obtain your CDA (Child Development Associate)

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    Experience working in a licensed childcare facility

    Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential system are a plus!

    Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods

    Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

    Excellent communication and instructional skills

    Ability to act as a mediator between children

    Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable

    Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
