Job Summary As a Toddler Teacher at Rising Starz Child Care Center, you are responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom where children feel secure, supported, and ready to learn. This role focuses on guiding toddlers through key developmental milestones, including language development, social interactions, self-help skills, and emotional regulation.
Our teachers understand that strong relationships come first. You will connect with children intentionally, support positive behavior, and create a classroom environment where learning happens through play, structure, and consistency.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with Frog Street Curriculum and classroom routines
Support children in building independence, communication skills, and appropriate social interactions
Actively supervise at all times to ensure children are safe and engaged
Maintain a clean, organized, and intentionally prepared classroom environment
Use positive guidance strategies, including redirection and modeling appropriate behavior
Document children’s daily activities, milestones, and learning experiences
Communicate consistently and professionally with families, both informally and through daily reports
Follow all Texas DFPS Minimum Standards, center policies, and health and safety procedures
Implement classroom practices aligned with Texas Rising Star (TRS) standards to support and maintain our 4-Star accreditation
Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, solution-focused work environment
Qualifications
Previous experience working with toddlers or in a licensed childcare setting preferred
Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for ages 18–36 months
Warm, patient, and nurturing approach with the ability to remain calm and intentional
Strong communication skills with both children and adults
Reliable, proactive, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced environment
High school diploma or equivalent required
