Job Description:

Ajax Cubs is seeking patient, attentive, and caring early childhood professionals to join our toddler classroom. Our toddlers range in age from 18 to 36 months, and our teachers play a vital role in supporting their daily growth, discovery, and development.

Toddler teachers are responsible for developing age-appropriate schedules and routines that balance physical activity, rest, and play. Lead teachers are also expected to monitor children’s safety, meet their physical and emotional needs, and maintain a clean, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment. Responsibilities include diapering, meal and nap supervision, and the cleaning and sanitization of toys and classroom materials.

Ajax Cubs provides care for children ages 8 weeks to 5 years old, with dedicated classrooms for infants, toddlers (Lion’s Den), and preschoolers. Located in Aspen, Colorado, our program embraces the surrounding natural beauty to offer children a unique, exploratory, and play-based learning experience.

Our classrooms first opened in January 2023, and we are building a dedicated team of educators who are excited to help shape a meaningful, community-rooted early childhood program from the ground up.

(Responsibilities) Job Duties

Providing care for children, such as setting schedules and routines, grooming, feeding, diapering, and cleaning rooms and toys.

Developing and encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children meet their milestones

Maintaining a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.

Keeping records relating to child care.

Desired Experience

Previous experience in a toddler classroom or licensed child care setting is strongly preferred.

Some college coursework in Early Childhood Education is encouraged but not required.
