    Job Description

    Under supervision, supports the financial operations of the Accounting Department by maintaining an up-to-date accounts receivable system and monitoring client account details for non-payments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature and frequently non-routine.

    • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
    • Prepares bank deposits.
    • Prepare Month End Cash Report from daily cash posting activity data.
    • Assist departmental managers and other members of the department with special projects.
    • Investigate and resolve customer queries as needed.
    • Reconcile accounts.
    • Send daily collection status updates to account managers on all payments received.
    • Perform collection and allocation of payments.
    • Organize a recovery system and initiates collection efforts.
    • Carrie out billing and reporting activities according to assigned deadlines.
    • Daily retrieval of electronic wire transfers from the bank and daily deposits from various clients.
    • Work with Underwriters to coordinate and resolve client issues.
    • Contact clients on all invoicing issues by phone and/or email.
    • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding payments.

    • Follow work plans, established timelines, and pre-defined goals for assigned work.
    • Meet commitments on deadlines.

    Communication

    • Develop strong customer focus and high service level relationship with clients.

    Cost Management

    • Perform work thoroughly in a cost-efficient manner and at a high productivity level.
    • Utilize company resources effectively.

    Business Controls and Policies

    • Comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
    • Take all reasonable steps to safeguard company assets against waste, loss, unauthorized use and misappropriation.
    • Report any breakdown in controls to a supervisor or manager.

    People Management

    • No people management responsibility
    • May assist in orienting and training less experienced employees.

     

    Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent

     

    Experience

    • Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive experience in area of accounts receivables, general accounting, etc.

    Other

    • Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
    • Knowledge of general accounting principals
    • Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
    • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
    • Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
