Job Description

TomFerry is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our IT Team. This individual will have an essential impact in integrating the project functions and resources across the product life cycle, right from planning, building, testing, and deployment to support. This role requires a hands on approach and a collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
• Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
• Setting up tools and required infrastructure
• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
• Incidence management and root cause analysis
• Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production, catching and solving issues before launch
• Test system integrity, implemented designs, application developments and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed.
• Update processes and design new processes as needed to optimize performance.
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
• Deploy product updates as required while implementing integrations when they arise.
• Specifying, documenting and developing new product features, and writing automating scripts so that others may understand.
• Establish DevOps team best practices.
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
• Work with open-source technologies as needed.
• Perform and test upgrades.
• Create and document application requirements.
• Log and track system problems through resolution.
• Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and help-related materials as applications are developed.
• Maintain technical documentation of existing and future applications.

Experience:

• Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration, and AWS.
• Strong experience with databases such as SQL, MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, and/or Mongo.
• Experience building integrations with Netsuite and Salesforce.
• Experience with Heroku and preferably Heroku Connect.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP, Groovy, Bash.
• Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Asana, Jira, WorkFront, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.
• Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Experience in working with Puppet or Chef for automation and configuration.
