    Job Description

The Parts Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Parts department and fostering a culture of exceptional service to one another and our customers, knowledge, resourcefulness, and personal responsibility.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Interview, hire, train, motivate, evaluate, and lead the Parts department team members to successfully meet performance goals and progress on a professional development path through continued training and coaching.
    • Prepare and administer departmental schedule, operating budget, performance evaluations, corrective action plans, performance improvement plans, and inventory reports.
    • Possess a thorough, proven knowledge of heavy-duty truck parts and inventory control systems to lead sales and warehousing teams in a fast-paced environment.
    • Work collaboratively with department managers to ensure timely parts turnaround for internal jobs.
    • Actively monitor profit and loss statements, performance metrics, and cycle counts
    • Recommend and enforce current pricing strategy that align company goals, purchasing power, volume, and customer loyalty.
    • Cultivate and grow relationships with vendors and customers to increase market share.
    • Develop strategies for more efficient operations, reducing waste, and forecasting goals and objectives with an agile approach.
    • Responsible for managing accurate invoicing, inventory levels, cores, warranty recovery, obsolescence, and proactively leading the department to success through direct leadership.
    • Supervise periodic and annual inventory counts.
    • Host vendor and customer appreciation events to bolster relationships and sales.
    • Schedule expenditures and approve departmental purchase orders with a lean management outlook.
    • Routinely follow-up on staff performance by contacting customers regarding order status, estimates, or routine sales calls.
    • Read company, DTNA, and OEM bulletins to stay informed of new business operations, parts, product lines, potential recalls, failures, industry trends. Train staff on the necessary process or policy requirements or amendments.
    • Understand applicable federal, state, and local laws and obtain necessary documentation for compliance with environmental and safety guidelines.
    • Participate in required dealer and OEM or vendor-led training as required.
    • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned in an organized, timely manner.

    Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.     • High school diploma or GED
    • Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements is required
    • 5+ years of management experience in parts sales or related trucking industry experience
    • Thorough knowledge of computer inventory control systems
    • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
    • Strong organization skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and a solution-focused outlook
    • Resourceful, collaborative team leader
    • Strong personal conviction of producing quality work, being an integrated team player, and commitment to company values
