    To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:

    • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished sample, sequence of operations and set up requirements of machine tools and equipment.
    • Make new details from prints or duplicates from existing details.
    • Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining
    • Set up, operate and become proficient on all tool room equipment including lathe, drill press, conventional milling machine (Bridgeport), and surface grinder.
    • Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable.
    • Bench (stone) die details to high polish.
    • Smooths flat and contoured surfaces to fit and assemble parts together into assemblies and mechanisms.
    • Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances.
    • Determine specifications for inspection of work, using full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before, during and after machining.
    • Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Uses hand tools of the trade.
    • Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
    • Set up, run off and test dies to produce a product to specifications. Troubleshoots die difficulties with Production and Quality personnel and correct problems.
    • Assemble, set punches, lead-check, and dry-run dies.
    • Work along side Die Leaders and Die Makers during all phases of die tryout.
    • Operate and develop an intermediate skill level in mig welding and tig welding.
    • Operate and develop a basic understanding of CNC milling, wire EDM, and co-ordinate measurement machines.
    • Will be exposed to engineering disciplines including design and programming.
    • Willing to attend required classes and schooling needed to complete training process.
    • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
    • Punctual and regular attendance is required.
    • Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
    • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
    • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
    • Assumes other duties as directed by coordinator.

    **** This full-time, hourly role is a part of our Belleville Plant 2 team and reports to the Toolroom Supervisor/Manager.

    Required Education:

    High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.

    Required experience:

    Ability to work with the following tools:

    · Micrometers

    · Calipers

    · Scales

    · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to machine accurately including close tolerance machining where applicable.

    · Crane License

    · Hilo License

    · Responsible for reading and understanding the TS16949 and ISO-14001 procedures.
