To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:
· Develop, maintain and upgrade fixtures and gages. Perform general fixture and gage maintenance.
· Demonstrates good short- and long-term decision making in the following:
Ø Pressroom Troubleshooting
Ø Problem Identification and Solution
Ø Tool Room Repair and Maintenance Work and
Ø Tool Room Machining Practices
· Computes dimensions, plans layout and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
· Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining. Determine specifications for inspection of work, using full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before, during and after machining.
· Performs extensive die maintenance such as rebuilding die sections, retrimming pads and forms and engineering changes on all types of dies.
· Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, blanchard and surface grinder to machine parts and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications.
· Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable.
· Smooths flat and contoured surfaces to fit and assemble parts together into assemblies and mechanisms.
· Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances. Hand or spot grind Iron to Iron and Metal Out. Heat treats tools or parts.
· Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures to recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part. Connects wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.
· Demonstrates good work planning/scheduling practices. Punctual and regular attendance is required. Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
· Able and willing to work any shift assigned. Participates in continuous improvement activities.
· Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
This Full-Time, hourly role is a part of our Autokiniton – Belleville 2 team and reports to the Tool Room Supervisor.
Required experience:
Education and/or Experience:
High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
Language Skills :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Technical Skills:
Ability to work with the following software packages or programs:
Microsoft Office at a beginning level, effective email and electronic communication skills are required
Ability to work with the following database programs and/or hardware:
· MQ1 database at a basic level
· QAD database at a basic level
Ability to work with the following tools or machinery:
