Job Summary
The Tool & Die Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying tools, dies, and molds used in manufacturing operations. This role ensures that production tools are precise, functional, and safe, minimizing downtime and maintaining product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair tools, dies, and molds to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tooling and production equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and dies to extend their service life.
- Modify or fabricate tooling components as required to meet production specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances and dimensions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve tooling issues.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tool & Die Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and precision machining skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of metals, alloys, and heat-treating processes preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling heavy tools or components.
