    Overview: We are seeking an experienced machinist to join our team in a fast-paced rubber injection molding business. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of tool and die fabrication, maintenance, and repair in a manufacturing environment, specifically within the rubber injection molding industry. As a Tooling Associate, you will work closely with engineers, production staff, and other skilled tradespeople to ensure the quality and efficiency of tooling used in the injection molding process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Tool & Die Fabrication: Build, and modify injection molds, dies, and other tooling to support the production of rubber parts.

    Tool Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of molds and tooling to ensure production schedules are met without downtime.

    Precision Machining: Use CNC and manual machines, grinders, lathes, milling machines, and other precision tools to fabricate and repair components.

    Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure tooling meets design requirements.

    Quality Control: Inspect tools and molds to ensure that they meet quality standards and specifications, using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

    Tooling Improvements: Identify opportunities for tooling design or process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, or improve product quality.

    Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and the production team to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling during production runs.

    Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance, repairs, and modifications, and follow safety and quality procedures.

    Qualifications:

    Experience: Machining and fabrication in a precision environment, ideally with tooling experience.

    Technical Skills: Proficient in manual machining, tool design, reading engineering drawings and precision measurement.

    Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve tooling and production issues efficiently.

    Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring all tools and molds are fabricated to exact specifications.

    Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety standards and ability to follow all safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

    Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform manual labor in a machine shop setting.

    Preferred Skills:

    Previous experience as a tool maker building, modifying, and maintaining injection molds.

    Familiarity with rubber injection molding processes and materials.

    Proficient in CNC machining

    Experience with CAD software and mold design.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
